The Uniform Collection

The Uniform Collection

11 organic pieces for everyday wear inspired by elements that are truly ours and represent us as Caribeños and Dominicans such as Larimar, our mixed complexion & our national flower la Rosa de Bayahibe. We put them all together creating various combinations of the ultimate uniform Caribbean style so no matter where we go we bring with us where we come from.

Larimar, also known as the Caribbean stone or Atlantis stone. A mineral that has only been found in Barahona, Dominican Republic. If there is a color that distinguishes us as Caribbeans and Domis, it has to be the larimar blue.

Viralata, word that designates stray dogs without a defined breed or mestizos. Making reference to them turning over trash cans looking for food. The artwork is inspired by our viralatas, Re & Do, they were abandoned in a box nearby, we found them and simply couldn’t look away and ignore their existence, so adoption was it.

We intend to raise awareness around this topic as we are also mixed, in fact, the Caribbean is where all colors collide ;) that’s why we so flavorful, full of sazón. So embrace your mixed complexion and adopt a Viralata ✔️

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS ARTWORK WILL BE DONATED TO NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TAKING CARE OF VIRALATAS IN RD <3

La Rosa de Bayahibe print  (Leuenbergia Quisqueyana) endemic and the national flower of the Dominican Republic. Also one of the few roses in the world without thorns, a quite subtle representation of our beauty as Domis; with dark chocolate brown background as a reminder that no matter what “llevamos el negro detrás de la oreja”.
